John Garvey reminded me that Hard Crackers is releasing its seventh issue this weekend at Freddy’s Bar in Brooklyn. So if you’re in town, feel free to stop by and grab a drink to celebrate. You can visit the Facebook event page for more details. It says Noel Ignatiev will be there, so I hope to catch up with him!
There will be readings from contributors including James Livingston, who authored “The Fireman” piece, along with many others. Livingston wrote a piece for Jacobin years ago called “How the Left Has Won,” which I found far too sunny and optimistic for my tastes. But he’s a great guy.
Hope to see you there. Copies of Issue 7 as well as older issues will be on hand, which can be bought for just $6 apiece.
Why should I care about a magazine edited by a Third Period Stalinist like Noel Ignatiev? Just wondering….
This is the second time you’ve accused Noel of something like this, but I’ve yet to see any proof. In fact, he either wrote or edited one of the best takedowns of Stalin I’ve come across. You should check it out!
Friendly reminder: there is an ongoing insurrection without historical precedent in Chile.
Absolutely. It’s been incredible, watching and reading about it from afar.
